Director of Finance
Desired Experiences: Previous on-campus event programming experience; knowledge and familiarity with UCLA funding pools; managing people/students
Work closely with Programming and other committees when required in event-planning; applying to applicable funding pools and managing funding applications. Co-manage the programming committee with the Director of Programming. Collaborates with EVP and President.
Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Desired Experiences: Advocacy/community engagement, previous work on retention issues for disadvantaged students; advocacy and awareness projects on UCLA campus, strong community ties
Responsible for making sure the entire organization maintains a focus on EDI issues and providing suggestions to and educate subcommittees and Officers on how to incorporate EDI into goals, programming, communication, and feedback. Collaborates with IVP and President. Host projects in collaboration with LSSA committees or independently that are targeted towards creating further representation and inclusivity.
Director of Marketing
Desired Experiences: Experience designing graphic; moderate knowledge of Adobe Photoshop/ Illustrator/ or other design software as well as Canva
Jointly (along with the Director of Communications) managing the members of the Communications committee, leading committee meetings, and reporting to the President. Responsible primarily for creating graphics to support the organization’s events/purpose. Collaborates with EVP and President.
Director of Research
Desired Experiences: Have knowledge about interdisciplinary approaches (ex: journalism course) to research outside of traditional lab-based methods, and have sufficient experience (must be/have been involved in a laboratory). Has participated in a research journal course before OR has experience with research journals on campus. Involvement in student-run research groups such as Stroke Team/EMRA/ARC/etc. is a plus. Previous experiences leading others and is comfortable with guiding people on how to get research positions.
Works to increase access to research opportunities; Serve as an overall resource for undergraduate research, and collaborate with Committees, such as Professional Development, to create opportunities for students to network, learn further, and gain insight on pertaining topics. Collaborates with IVP and President.
Director of Special Projects
Desired Experiences: Will be in charge of executing their own project with the help and resources provided by LSSA. (Candidates bring us their ideas and we help them make it happen!)
No necessary experiences, but candidates for this position should have a relatively detailed game plan and a solid idea of what they would like to achieve. The ability to take initiative is key.

Director of Curriculum and Director of Programming
Only open to current LSSA Members.

Director of Curriculum: Managing the members of the Curriculum committee, leading committee meetings, and reporting to the President. Will be the point person for course feedback and will be responsible for completing a quarterly and end-of-year report. Collaborates with IVP and President.
Director of Programming: Managing the members of the Programming committee, leading committee meetings, and reporting to the President (jointly with Director of Finance). Responsible for event logistics (book spaces, funding, contacting professors) and creating programming to connect LS students with the core/professors/professionals. Collaborates with EVP and President.
Director of the LSSA Fellowship Program
Desired Experiences: Have experience mentoring, and overseeing leadership transitions and leading others. Knowledge of mental health organizations (on-campus) and/or involvement in one is a plus!
Create freshman engagement within LSSA by leading a team of select first-years to shadow current directors and committees, and work closely with directors to create inclusivity of underclassmen. Collaborates with IVP and President.
Director of Professional and Career
Desired Experiences: Not Pre-Med; Considering using LS Degree for a career in Business/MPH/MBA/etc. Must have good knowledge of their desired field/career path and the ability to work collaboratively to host events. Have a decent idea on how event planning on campus works.
Managing the members of the Professional and Career Development committee, leading committee meetings, and reporting to the President. Responsible for creating programming (events) as well as resources about “alternative” (Teaching/Business/MPH/MBA/ career paths in order to educate students about their opportunities. Host professional development events.
